A Biathlon World Championships 2019 online streaming guide!
You might look forward to summer, swimming, and wearing your bathing suit again, but we sure have an awesome winter with lots of great competitions running. But, how are you going to stream and watch the Biathlon World Championships 2019 online? This is the ultimate streaming guide with all the information that you need!
The Biathlon World Championship, also known as IBU World Championships Biathlon, will be arranged in Sweden in the city of Ostersund between March 7th and March 17th. You can see the full program of the event further down in the article. The event actually starts on March 6th with the opening ceremony, but you shouldn’t think of the opening ceremony like what comes to your mind when you think of a Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony and so. In other words, that is not something to think about, so forget about it, and be ready for the real action as it starts on March 7th with Mixed Relay.
Biathlon World Championships 2019 broadcasters
These channels will for sure broadcast the Biathlon World Championships 2019.
Nation | TV Station |
Germany | ZDF |
Norway | NRK |
Sweden | SVT |
USA | NBC Sports |
These channels will for sure broadcast the IBU World Championships 2019. But, how can you get access to the live streams making you able to watch all the competitions and all the action online on your computer, on your laptop, on your phone or on your tablet? This is how it is done!
Watch the Biathlon World Championships online
To watch NBC Sports online, a cable subscription is needed to NBC Sports in the USA. If you do not have such a subscription, it will not really work, and you can probably forget about it. But, you can still stream the event online on NRK in Norway and SVT in Sweden.
The Swedish and the Norwegian channel will broadcast every single minute from the competitions online for free, meaning that no cable subscription is needed. It is completely free! But, to watch the live streams on NRK.no or SVTPLAY.se outside the countries, you will need to use a VPN to get a local IP address in Norway or in Sweden. That is very easy to get, and I recommend one of the following VPN providers for that purpose!
[table id=”5″]
You can use all the three mentioned VPN providers to bypass the geo-blocks used by NRK and SVT in Sweden, which again will make you able to watch the Biathlon World Championships 2019 online. This is how it is done in real life.
- Visit the ExpressVPN website (if you decide to use their services).
- Sign up for one of their packages (you get 3 months for free if you sign up for 12 months).
- Download the ExpressVPN client to your device.
- Connect to a server in Norway / Sweden.
- Visit NRK,no or SVTPLAY.se to watch the live streams from the Biathlon World Championships online.
That wasn’t hard, was it? ExpressVPN is the most recommended VPN provider on the market now, but it is a bit more expensive than PureVPN and IPVanish. If you want to spend as little as possible, go for PureVPN. All three providers will work great, and they all have valid money-back guarantees. As a result, you can ask for a refund within 30 days with ExpressVPN, 31-days with PureVPN, and 7 days with IPVanish, and get your money back if you don’t feel satisfied with what you got.
You can use your ExpressVPN subscription on three devices at the same time (simultaneously), while you can use your PureVPN subscription at 5 devices and IPVanish at 10 devices at the same time. They all support high level encryption (256-bit), but if you want to unblock lots of other streaming sites, ExpressVPN is the best service. They will also let you stream Netflix in the USA, in Canada, in England, in the Netherlands, and some more regions. PureVPN will only give you access to American Netflix, while IPVanish doesn’t work with Netflix at all.
The biggest favorites to win in the Biathlon World Championships
Among the men, Martin Fourcade might be the biggest favorite of them all, but he hasn’t produced great results so far this season. Actually, he is only number 3 in the overall standings among the men in the Biathlon World Cup standings so far. The one in the lead is the Norwegian athlete Johannes Thingnes Boe, with the Russian athlete Alexander Loginov at second place.
Among the ladies, it is a solid lead for two Italian athletes. Dorothea Wierer is on the top of the standings sheet, but only a few points in front of Lisa Vittozzi at the second place. Behind them we will find the Slovakian athlete Anastasiya Kuzmina, followed by Marte Olsbu from Norway.
But, in a tournament like this, anything can happen, and maybe the experience of Martin Fourcade and Kaisa Makarainen will lead the to gold and glory once again. The Swedish audience will for sure cheer for Hanna Oeberg and Mona Brorsson as the womens compete, and maybe they will hope that Sebastian Samuelsson can do some miracles as the men compete (he is currently placed 22nd on the IBU standing sheet for the 2018-19 season).
